The Board of Directors of Eagle Financial Services, Inc. appointed Brandon C. Lorey as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company and its subsidiary bank, Bank of Clarke County (the “Bank”) and he assumed the role on July 8, 2019. Mr. Lorey oversees all day-to-day operations of the Berryville-headquartered bank and its 192 employees and succeeded President and CEO John R. Milleson. Milleson, who had previously announced his retirement as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company and the Bank, assisted with Mr. Lorey’s transition until July 5, 2019, when he officially retired from those roles after 35 years with the organization.

"Brandon brings a wealth of experience in consumer and business banking, after having spent more than 25 years building relationships in communities,” said Tom Gilpin, Bank of Clarke County’s chairman of the board. Gilpin led an executive search committee that conducted a national search. "Brandon's credentials and energy convinced us that he is the right person to build upon Johnny Milleson’s tenure of service, leadership and success at Bank of Clarke County." A Virginia native, Lorey, age 50, most recently served as Executive Vice President, Head of Consumer Banking of United Bank, a $7.3 billion asset bank headquartered in Connecticut, since 2015. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President, Consumer Lending from April 2014 to June 2015, as Senior Vice President, Head of Consumer Lending from February 2013 to April 2014. Prior to joining United Bank and its predecessors, he served as Chief Credit and Lending Officer for H&R Block Bank in Kansas City, Senior Vice President at Sovereign Bank in Pennsylvania and held various roles at Chevy Chase Bank, Federal Savings Bank in Maryland, including Vice President of risk, finance, operations and direct sales. "I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to help build upon Bank of Clarke County’s legacy as the fifth oldest, continually-operating financial institution in the Commonwealth of Virginia," said Lorey. "I look forward to getting to know our customers and, most importantly, the communities in which we serve.”
Lorey has developed a reputation as a leader within the industry, and recently served as a foundation board member at Asnuntuck Community College in Connecticut. Lorey also served as business council for the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum in Kansas City and a member of the advisory board of the Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. Lorey holds a MBA degree from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor's degree in government with a mathematics concentration from the College of William & Mary.
