Meet Your Community Leader: Scott Harvard

Scott C. Harvard has been a Virginia community bank CEO since 1985. He has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of First National Corporation, the parent company of First Bank, since May 2011. Scott currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the Virginia Bankers Association, which is in its 125th year of serving Virginia Banks.

Scott also currently serves as a director of the United Way of the Northern Shenandoah Valley, Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury, Top of Virginia Chamber of Commerce, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, where he was board chairman during the financial crisis from 2007-2012.

Scott was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, went to school at Rollins College in Winter Park Florida, and spent 23 years on the Eastern Shore of Virginia as the President and CEO of Shore Financial Corporation and Shore Bank, a Nasdaq traded banking company.

He lives in Winchester with his wife Katie, his son William, and their dogs and cats. He has a daughter Katharine who lives in Manassas.

In his spare time, Scott enjoys playing tennis and golf, hunting waterfowl, and racing Porsches.
