Full Lineup of Fall Promotions at Shenandoah Downs
Shenandoah Downs has packed the season with themed events and giveaways, including:
- September 26: 10th Anniversary Celebration
- October 3: Shenandoah County Autumnfest
- October 10: Pigskin & Ponies "Own a Horse for a Day"
- October 11: Wiener Dog Derby
- October 17: Baseball Cap Giveaway
- October 24: Pink Power Breast Cancer Awareness Day
Sunday Specials and Cash Contests
Sunday race days offer plenty of extra value for fans.
Visitors can enjoy:
- $1 hot dogs
- $2 canned beer
- A free "Pick the Horses" handicapping contest
The contest features $250 in cash prizes every Sunday. Weekly winners receive $125 and earn a chance to participate in the season-ending "Own a Horse for a Day" promotion on November 1, where they could share in a $5,000 purse.
The popular contest is sponsored by the Virginia Harness Horse Association (VHHA).
Located in the town of Woodstock, just off Interstate 81 at Exit 283, Shenandoah Downs sits roughly midway between Harrisonburg and Winchester.
