The National Mall will host the Great American State Fair this summer to celebrate the country's 250th birthday. Freedom 250 announced plans for the 16-day exposition yesterday. The event will run from June 25th through July 10th and span from the U.S. Capitol to the Washington Monument. It will feature live music, carnival rides and dozens of hands-on activations. Two highlights will be a 110-foot Ferris wheel and a refurbished Smithsonian carousel. All 56 states and territories will be showcased at the fair.
