“The Big Bang Theory” Star Secretly Pays Off Strangers' Medical Bills

During a recent interview, actor Kunal Nayyar, best known for playing Rajesh Koothrappali on The “Big Bang Theory,” shared that financial stability has allowed him to give back in meaningful ways. Along with his wife, Neha Kapur, he funds university scholarships for students from disadvantaged backgrounds and supports animal charities. Nayyar says that money has given him greater freedom and the ability to help others.

He also described how he’ll go on GoFundMe at night and pay off strangers’ medical bills without publicity or cameras. Calling it his “masked vigilante thing,” he says the ability to quietly change people’s lives feels like a grace rather than a burden. These acts are done privately, with no announcements or media attention.

He believes kindness begins at a local level and we shouldn’t be waiting for leaders to create change. He says that expecting politicians to bring world peace overlooks everyday opportunities to help others, like responding kindly to a neighbor in need. According to Nayyar, real change starts with individuals choosing to act.
