Doja Cat brought us back in time for a retro performance of her new single.
On Sunday night, September 7, the radiant singer hit the stage to perform her new song "Jealous Type" for the first time on network television. During her set, Doja invited revered musician Kenny G to set the tone by playing his signature soprano saxophone. The Grammy Award-winning artist wore a white crop top tied at the bottom and black pants as she began her solo routine. She busted some throwback moves before her dancers, who were also rocking some vintage outfits, joined her for a robotic dance break.
Doja Cat dropped "Jealous Type" as an iHeartRadio World Premiere last month. The 80s-inspired pop hit, produced by Y2K and Jack Antonoff, was accompanied by a retro-style video in which she flashes off numerous looks. The video begins with one version of the singer with a teased blonde hairstyle and an open white shirt, turning on a vintage film reel to admire another version of herself singing in a leopard-print ensemble. Both Dojas meet up on top of a white limousine, along with scenes of a third, blonde Doja dressed in red lingerie and dancing near an elevator.
"Jealous Type" is the lead single off Doja Cat's upcoming album Vie. Her fifth studio album is the follow-up to 2023's Scarlet, which was her first rap-centric record since her second LP Hot Pink. Look out for Vie dropping September 26 and check out her red carpet looks below.
