Driver Crashes Into Home, Then Lies To Police That A Car Thief Did It

Check to see if there’s a police dog on site before you start lying. A Washington driver crashed into a home's retaining wall in Lacey and then told deputies their car was stolen. The Thurston County Sheriff's Office responded to screams outside a home Saturday night after someone crashed into a wall. The person at the scene claimed their car was stolen and crashed by someone else. However, when deputies brought out a K9 to track suspects, the dog led back to the person making the false claim. A field sobriety test revealed the person had a blood alcohol content of .147. They were arrested for DUI, hit and run, and making false statements. Ironically, the homeowner had built the retaining wall just one day before the crash.
