Americans Aren’t Spending Money At Salons Like They Used To

When money is tight the extras are ditched from the budget. Hair care is close to the top of that list. Americans aren't going to the salon as much because of rising costs brought on by tariffs and inflation. That's according to a report this month from consumer analytics platform CivicScience, which found that more than 40-percent of typical salon customers are going less, relying on home treatments while 24-percent aren’t going at all. Half of those surveyed said saving money was the biggest reason. Gen Xers and Millennials are more likely to stop going altogether, while Gen Z is going less.
