Mattel Adds 2 New First-Of-Their-Kind Inclusive Barbies

As part of their 2024 Fashionistas Line, which aims to represent diverse appearances and disabilities, Mattel has introduced two new inclusive Barbie dolls: a blind Barbie and the first Black Barbie with Down syndrome. Both dolls were developed in collaboration with nonprofit organizations to make sure all the details were accurate. For the blind Barbie, Mattel partnered with the American Foundation for the Blind, and for the Black Barbie with Down syndrome, they worked with the National Down Syndrome Society. Along with the rest of the 65th anniversary Barbie Fashionista collection, these two new dolls are available starting this week on Mattel’s website as well as in retailers.
