Don’t Fall For Holiday Email Scams

Tis the season for holiday scam emails. Don’t be surprised if your inbox is full of emails from retailers offering you the chance to “win free stuff.” Email providers are having a tough time with scammers who have developed ways to get around spam filters. Whatever you do, don’t click those links. It looks too good to be true because it is. The latest round of emails look like they’re coming from Costco, Kohl’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods and others. Retailers will never ask you to reply to an email with your credit card info. One trick, besides the fake giveaways, is a survey email. Unless you just bought something from a retailer, delete that email and do not answer the questions. Be on guard and never give out financial or personal info until you verify the source.
