Tom Holland Went Undercover at High School For Spider-Man: Homecoming

At some point we were all miserable 15-year-olds sitting in high school wishing we had super powers. The only person lucky enough to play out this fantasy? Marvel's newest Spider-Man Tom Holland.

To prepare for his role as a young Peter Parker in the latest Spider-Man installment, Holland told On Air With Ryan he actually went undercover as a sophomore at the Bronx School of Science in New York.

"I thought it would be funny if I went to a high school undercover with a fake name and a food pack," he explained. "Marvel took it very seriously and thought it was an amazing idea.”

Spider-Man: Homecoming marks Holland's first feature-length appearance as young Spidey — a role he did eight auditions to earn — but you may remember him from his brief but standout cameo in Captain America: Civil War, where the new movie picks up.

"We get to see Spider-Man having the time of his life, fighting with The Avengers, doing what he loves to do," Holland described. "Then we quickly jump up to him, stuck in high school, miserable."

Spider-Man: Homecoming opens in theaters Friday, July 7.
